Smart Home Junkie | Run Home Assistant from SSD on a Raspberry Pi - 2022 TUTORIAL @SmartHomeJunkie | Uploaded March 2022 | Updated October 2024, 5 minutes ago.
This Home Assistant Tutorial shows how to set up or migrate Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi using an SSD drive in 2022. You might not know that using an SD card in a Raspberry Pi is not an optimal solution for Home Assistant. The SD card will eventually fail because Home Assistant is generating so much traffic from and to the SD card. The solution for this is to connect an SSD drive to your Raspberry Pi and boot Home Assistant from that SSD drive. You don’t even need an SD card anymore after going through this tutorial. So, let’s set up Home Assistant on an SSD drive on a Raspberry Pi now!
