Would you accept brand new powers if they meant embracing something you once hated? It’s a tricky moral dilemma, and one that Rumi faced during K-pop Demon Hunters. It can’t be easy when you’re raised to hunt the very thing that’s also coursing through your veins. As a Demon Hunter who is also part-demon, Rumi grew up with a strong sense of self-loathing and shame. It’s not until she receives support from the most surprising of places, and acceptance from her friends, that she begins to view her opposing cultures as strengths instead of weaknesses. Rumi finally accepts her demon side by the end of the film, but we don’t get to see what her life looks like now that she has markings on full display and brand new powers at her disposal. Today’s video will be all about Rumi and how she might use her new demon-related skills in the sequel.
