Australian group RÜFÜS represent the intersection of live band elements and familiar, dance-friendly electronic tropes. Pairing original vocals with smooth synth work, their creations never fail to enrapture listeners.

The Sydney trio’s latest single is “You Were Right,” a catchy indie-dance number with deep house sensibility, and coincidentally, the lead single from their sophomore album. The group’s impending, yet-to-be-named work follows their 2013 debut, Atlas, which peaked at number 1 in Australia.

After spending the latter part of 2014 writing new music from a Berlin base, RÜFÜS returned to Sydney at the start of 2015 to finish music for their 2nd album. You Were Right is the first song they wrote after returning home. A story of unrequited longing for someone,
