Okay so a lot to say about this one! It's one of those songs which I had thought about covering for a really really long time but never really did anything with. Then, a few days ago, reading a comment from someone suggesting I cover it gave me all the motivation I need! Originally this was supposed to only be a cover of Rude Buster, but as I started doing it I felt it was only natural to incorporate elements of Ruder Buster and Rakuichi Buster, albeit fairly minimal given they, for a large part, are based predominantly on Rude Buster. Why am I playing piano outside you might ask?
... just seemed kinda fun
In terms of the arrangement itself, there's a lot going on even if it doesn't seem that way at times. For example, the chord based piano part is being layered with a Rhodes doing the same thing. There's quite a few different layers of percussion going on too. There came a point where I just started walking around my room picking up random things to record and add. Overall the goal was to just have fun and dance along the way! That meant that structurally you'll notice I do quite a few things differently from the originals. It just felt very natural in the moment. Another small technical detail! Occasionally after the normal 4 piano chords that start on Gbm, I go to Ebdim and then D. This was inspired by Trevor Alan Gomes's arrangement for the Deltarune Piano Collections which I'd HIGHLY recommend checking out if you haven't.
