R-Type 2 did everything R-Type 1 did but bigger. Bigger bosses, better graphics, and much, much higher difficulty. The Boss of level 4 at 10:10 may be the single hardest boss battle in all of video game history (not counting some of the unbeatable jrpg ones). Level 5 is insane as well, before Level 6 gets easy again. Unlike for R-Type 1 which I know by heart, I had to use save states here. Forget Battletoads, Ghosts n Goblins, Ninja Gaiden or Dark Souls. R-Type 2 on pro is possibly the hardest "real" game you can find (except maybe Cyberoid 2). Even with knowledge of the levels after playing the SNES version for years, this is unforgiving.

Possibly my favorite boss fight out of all fighting games.The way the music changes during her transformation and goes into this gritty bassline driven segment of the track, her face reappearing in this demonic but hot look, her intimidating laugh.. it all fits together beautifully.")
