RTS Link construction project in Johor Bahru is start now
The RTS Link connects Bukit Chagar in Johor Bahru to Woodlands in Singapore, serving about 10,000 passengers per hour each way to help ease traffic congestion on the Causeway.
The RTS project is estimated to be RM3.7 billion after factoring in the relocation of the depot from Mandai in Singapore to Johor Bahru.
The RTS will not only ease congestion on the Causeway, the connectivity will also bring economic benefit to both cities.
The RTS Link will also continue to feature co-location of customs, immigration and quarantine (CIQ) facilities, so that passengers undergo CIQ clearance only once, at their point of departure.
The RTS Link stations will be well integrated with the local transport networks in each country.
When completed, the RTS Link will ease Causeway congestion, improve connectivity, foster people-to-people ties and generate shared economic and social benefits.

Mersing is a coastal town in southeast Malaysia. Its known as the departure point for ferries to offshore islands like Pulau Tioman and Pulau Rawa.
The town center is home to the ornate, Hindu Sri Subramaniam Temple. Nearby, the hilltop Masjid Jamek Bandar mosque offers panoramic views.
To the north, the village of Air Papan has a beach. To the west, Gunung Arong Recreational Forest includes trails and a waterfall
Mersing is a small fishing and tourist town, located in most north east in Johor state, Malaysia.
From Mersing, tourists are choosing this town to reach visit many nearby beaches and Island, especially Tioman Island, Besar Island, Rawa Island, Sibu Island, Tinggi Island and many more.
Some interesting places to visit near to Mersing town are Endau town, a major off-shore fishing port in Johor and Penyabong, a very quiet fishing village located in a beautiful cove by the sea. Another attraction is the Endau Rompin National Park in the north.
