Wanwan's comment on this song is that it "has a somber yet childish sound to it" which is frankly what I also feel about it. Initially, I was going for the "sad, melancholic" theming, but decided against it because the original song already filled that theme. So I decided to make it like an epic battle theme, while also retaining some child-like and sadness.
And like Wanwan, I don't have the biwa sound. Even worse, I don't have the shou (a traditional Japanese reed instrument) that Wanwan used in this song. So I improvised with church organ (?)
I was already aware that this song is hard to arrange, but when I got into making this, it was WAY WAY harder than my expectations. This single arrange is actually two (best?) attempts merged into one. Go figure.
I will now undergo the usual hating-on-my-new-work phase. That feeling of 'could have made it better' is already creeping in.
Will I finish the Tougenkyuu trio? Yes. Princess Peach is up on the list.
