1. I had a REALLY hard time getting this game to run the second race. I have no idea why this game is so picky, but it appears to be related with data not installing correctly from the disc, this might be resolved if there is a digital version of this game. I had the game crash while attempting to load the second race once, and this corrupted all the HDD data, I could never get the game to reinstall that data correctly. It took me many hours to understand I needed to wipe the dev_hdd0 folder entirely.
2. This is the build someone recommended for the game to boot, I am absolutely unable to get this game to run multiple times on the latest version. What I mean is this: it will run fine the FIRST time you install the emulator and add the game, any subsequent attempts to boot it result in an instant freeze in the initial Sony screen.
3. The game is perfectly playable for me on an LFC FREESYNC screen. I am aware it might look like it has screen tearing or judder on most screens, but it looks perfectly smooth on my screen.
I think I will wait until this emulator is stable enough to attempt a playthrough. The thought of advancing career and having corrupt HDD data just terrifies me. This emulator needs a lot of work honestly.
Settings minutia:
GPU: Write Color Buffers is on.
Multithreaded RSX is on.
Advanced:
Read Color Buffers is on.
These are the only settings I changed, everything else is set to DEFAULT.
CPU: Ryzen 3700X
Mobo: MSI b450 Gaming PLUS
GPU: KrakenG12 Hybrid Cooled AMD Radeon VII @1800 MHz, Memory clock: 1150 MHz @ 1010mv.
RAM: Team Group TUF DDR4 3000 MT/s
Driver: 20.4.2

![[RetroArch] Twinkle Star Sprites DX12 + FREESYNC + CRT easy-mode halation + RIS 4K Gameplay
Gameplay resolution at 4K. DirectX12 back-end. Radeon Image Sharpening is on.
The NeoGeo is NOT a native 60hz machine. In every single commercial re-release of this game, the game is forced to either run at 60hz (faster) or v-sync AT 60 hz (frame-skips, judders, etc). This makes it EXTREMELY hard to react in any version that isnt running on a NeoGeo in a CRT. Enter RetroArch and the sync to exact content framerate option. With this enabled, my panel is drawing a game frame whenever the frame is complete. Yes, the game is now running at its native frame-rate, and is being displayed PERFECTLY on my panel. I cannot stress enough how difficult it is to play this game if the framerate is not correct. Emulation has come a long way, I am simply in love.
CPU: Ryzen 3700X
Mobo: MSI b450 Gaming PLUS
GPU: AMD Radeon VII @1750 MHz (-50 underclock), Memory clock: 1100 MHz @ 960mv. Custom fan curve.
RAM: Team Group TUF DDR4 3000 MT/s
Radeon Image Sharpening + HDR color space.
Gameplay recorded with Radeon Relive. Performance while recording decreases by some margin. Normally, the GPU power consumption sits between 40 and 60 watts. GPU utilization of this game is not very high. So this is not a hard game to run at max settings.
