The Royal College of Art tasked 3D scanning specialists, Quod, with 3D scanning the bust of Sir John Soane, but with strict instructions not to touch the bust. Once scanned using Artec 3D handheld scanners, Eva and Spider, the 3D model was digitally shattered and these digital fragments printed in various materials. RCA Jewellery & Metal graduates then received the 3D printed elements as starting points for new contemporary art objects.
