The San Diego Museum of Art is proud to celebrate a significant honor bestowed upon our Maruja Baldwin Executive Director and CEO, Roxana Velásquez, who received the "Distinguished Mexican" award from Ambassador Alicia Kerber, Consul General of Mexico in San Diego.

Presented during the ceremony marking the 215th anniversary of Mexico’s independence, this award—granted by Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Institute of Mexicans Abroad—recognizes Mexicans abroad whose careers have had a profound impact on the international stage.
