Route 66 is littered with abandoned gas stations and diners that went out of business when the Interstate went in — but fans are actively working to save some of the iconic neon signage! Roadrunner’s Retreat in Chambless, CA is one such place — and tonight, I go out to the desert to see the old sign re-lit for the first time in decades!
