On October 27, 2015, German TV editor Carl-Ludwig Paeschke screened his documentary "Germany: Hurry Fatherland. How Unity Came to Be," outlining the developments from the fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989 to Unification in October 1990. Preceding the screening, Dr. Brittany Lehman, Professor Konrad Jarausch and Professor Klaus Larres joined the director in a round table discussion entitled "From Hitler to Merkel: the US & Germany from 1945 to 2015." The forum (part of the "World Affairs" The Cold War and Beyond" lecture series) is organized by the Richard M. Krasno Distinguished Professorship in the Department of History and the College of Arts and Sciences, with support at UNC from the Curriculum in Peace, War and Defense (PWAD), UNC Global, as well as from the Triangle Institute for Security Studies (TISS), the Center for European Studies (CES), and the Center for Slavic, Eurasian and Eastern European Studies.
