Sound Of A Shadow | "Rough Silver" - Original Composition @SoundOfAShadow | Uploaded 9 years ago | Updated 12 hours ago
This is a really old piece, and in fact, the first piece I ever did in the software I currently use. This tune was created as a last minute background music track for a college project.

The goal of the project was to create and program sound effects for an open-source multiplayer shooter game, known as “Nexuiz.” It was the final project for a class I was taking for Audio in Video Games.

Long story short, I had 30 minutes spare to kill at the end of a lab class, and decided to experiment and slap something together so my build of the game would have music. I appropriately named it Rough Silver because it has literally no polish on it. No EQ or mixing techniques, and no effects processing other than what came preset on the instruments. I had little to no idea what I was doing.

It's not very pretty, or well composed, or anything special at all really. The file is full of artifacts and glitches in the sound, and doesn't even loop very well. But it was sort of my groundbreaking and feet wetting for everything that I do here on YouTube now, so, I thought It deserved a spot on my channel too.
