At Rotten Tomatoes’ first ever Critics Workshop, we got the inside word on how to establish and – just as importantly – maintain PR relationships as a film or TV freelancer and critic. Terra Potts (SVP, Multicultural Marketing at Warner Bros. Pictures) brought the big studio perspective, while David Magdael (CEO, David Magdael and Associates) spoke to the goals of a PR agency representing smaller and independent films. Both emphasized the importance of knowing your brand, voice, and your audience, and both gave insights into how the changing landscape has affected the ways that journalists and marketers and PR representatives engage.
