Woodshop Junkies | Rotate-To-Store Flip Top Thickness Planer Installed To All-In-One Woodworking Bench - P6 @WoodshopJunkies | Uploaded June 2018 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
Adding my thickness planer to my ultimate woodworking workstation build was one of the more challenging installations.
I wanted to install it so that I could fold it away when it is obstructing the use of the table saw but I didn't want it to leave an opening in the bench top when it is packed away like in the case of the Miter saw.
I also wanted to sink the planer so that the rest of the bench can handle/support the in-feed and out-feed of the stock.
I decided to install the planer on a 180° flip top rotating table with cabinet storage so that when the planer is stored, the underside of the rotating bed would complete/fill the area on the bench top.
