Dillon Hopson | Rotary Dyke Delta Strong Wind Landing, control stick grip breaks @dillonhopson4367 | Uploaded March 2022 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
Runway heading 230 degrees, winds from 300 degrees at 10 knots gusting to 18. In the landing flare the plastic control stick grip broke and the aircraft hit the runway and bounced. Recovery was fast and the Delta was unharmed. Stick grip has been replaced with a nice Ray Allen type. The landing and approach was still less bumpy than the other aircraft.
