Roses Department Store's first year in operation was 1915 in Henderson, North Carolina! Since that time, many more have opened--and closed, however--there are still some hanging on! These stores fought their way through the discount store domination years of K-Mart and Walmart! In the next town over from where I live, Sylva, NC, there is a Roses store that has been going strong since the 1970's. It doesn't appear to have had many, if any, updates since the 1980's. Join Sir Daniel and I as we take a shopping trip to this "time warp" of a retail establishment. We'll have an eye out for retro-inspired items--and we'll be goofing off along the way (as per usual!) 😎
