Joe Root admitted on Tuesday that he is "hacked off" and "disappointed" as yet another off-field controversy created negative headlines for the England men's cricket team.
This time, Brydon Carse was involved in an incident in the early hours of Sunday at a Derby nightclub and the 31 year-old fast bowler has been dropped from the squad for the second Test starting at Lord's against Pakistan on Thursday.
Images published on social media showed Carse in handcuffs after he was arrested by police. He was de-arrested soon after and released.
"If I'm being brutally honest, I'm really hacked off, I'm really disappointed," Root said at the beginning of his news conference ahead of the second Test. "After last week's performance, we're sat here and we're talking about something that is not related to it at all."
