High school football is getting underway across Metro Detroit, and weather conditions will be an important factor for fans and players Friday night. Certified meteorologist Ron Hilliard provided a weather update ahead of the season-opening matchup between Cass Technical High School and Michigan City, Indiana. The teams are scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Friday at Wayne State University as part of the first high school football game featured by “State Champs! Gametime Live.” With kickoff approaching, Hilliard discussed the forecast and what players and fans can expect as they arrive at the stadium. The Cass Tech-Michigan City matchup marks the beginning of another busy high school football season across the region. Lorne Plante, executive producer and host of the State Champs! Sports Network, is also expected to join the broadcast to preview the matchup and discuss what to watch for when the teams take the field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Wayne State University.
