Who needs a tactician's strategies? Oh wait, I've got a tactician in party, never mind.
Year 1455. Puppet Master Bokhohn, one of the Seven Heroes. Also known as Bokuohn in older translations.
When you get kidnapped/enslaved (like I did in this playthrough), you lose all your equipment and you have to defeat Bokhohn only with whatever gear you find on the landship.
Magic and Martial Arts waza/techs are definitely the way to go. It's not a bad idea to get a (1h) sword user because the Blazing Sword (found in the landship) is actually pretty good.
All in all, surviving the random enemy encounters was harder than this fight itself. Specially getting to the fiery sword's chest. Surviving enemy encounters without MP/TP restoring items required clever usage of status effect techs. I could have probably never pulled this off if he were on his second form or if random enemies were tougher.
Also, YAY, I've been waiting for an English translation to this game for over a decade. Thanks based Square Enix!
