We've discovered a Roman bathhouse at the Birdoswald Roman Fort at Hadrian's Wall. 🛁

After four seasons of excavation at Birdoswald, some significant discoveries have been made. This video looks into one of the dig sites, where we have found incredible remains of the bathhouse furnace room. Preserved features like the iron bars are only comparable to those in Pompeii.

This dig is a partnership between Historic England, the University of Newcastle and English Heritage. We’re proud to be training the next generation of archaeologists. ⛏️
