The Roland MC-101 is a so-called "groovebox". It lets you record 4 tracks of drums and/or keyboard sounds. It plays all of the music in the video. But you will hear more than 4 different instruments. That's because the MC-101 can switch sounds on a single track.
The Novation Mininova is a monotimbral synthesizer (monotimbral means it can only play one sound at a time) and a very fun vocoder. The Zoom R8 is a 4-track digital recorder.
So I programmed the music on the MC-101, mostly from memory, while sitting on my couch watching the telly. Later I recorded that track and overdubbed the Novation Mininova vocoder voice on the Zoom R8.
