Here’s a brilliant piece of music history from 1980 — Roger Daltrey promoting the soundtrack to McVicar.

This original Melody Maker advert featured the album, the single “Free Me”, and a special cassette release of The Best of Daltrey.

Roger Daltrey, best known as the powerhouse voice of The Who, also starred in McVicar, giving the film and soundtrack that unmistakable gritty British rock feel.

I’ve cleaned up and colourised this fantastic old advert to bring it back to life.
