President Ramaphosa has appointed Roelf Meyer as South Africa's ambassador

- He sat with Cyril Ramaphosa and rebuilt negotiations from scratch after CODESA collapsed
- Nelson Mandela put him in his own Cabinet as Minister of Constitutional Development
- He brokered peace in Northern Ireland, Rwanda, Kosovo, Colombia, Myanmar and Sudan
- He holds the Tip O'Neill Chair in Peace Studies at the University of Ulster
- Harvard and Princeton have documented his negotiation work
- He received the Order of the Baobab in Silver in 2009 from President Motlanthe
- Ramaphosa appointed him co-chair of the National Dialogue Eminent Persons Group in 2025
