Rochester Public Schools is making some big moves. The school board has unanimously approved a nearly $45 million facilities plan that will reshape several campuses across the district, with changes set to take effect at the start of the 2027-2028 school year.
Hoover and Churchill Elementary Schools will merge into a single campus at the Hoover building, while the Middle School Alternative Learning Center moves into the Churchill building. The district's RAIL and C-TECH programs are also on the move, and the girls' gymnastics program will shift to a centralized athletics facility.
Board Chair Cathy Nathan says no boundary changes or class size increases are expected for families. Construction is not scheduled to begin until summer 2027.
