Prolific serial killer Robert “Willie” Pickton’s jailhouse confession to an undercover police officer posing as an inmate. After Pickton, of Port Coquitlam, BC, Canada, was arrested on suspicion of murder for a long list of missing women, police placed an undercover officer into his cell posing as a cellmate on Feb. 23, 2002.
Pickton initially denied he was responsible for what the police were alleging, but soon fell into bragging with his cellmate.
“I’m a legend already,” he says. “The whole fuckin‘ world knows me. All the way to Hong Kong to everywhere.” Pickton says he killed 49 women — “I was just gonna fuckin’ do one more, make it even” but “I made my own grave by being sloppy.”
“I made my own grave by being sloppy… they’re gonna nail me to the cross.”
He says he used a rendering plant to dispose of the bodies but police would find “old carcasses” when they searched his pig farm.
Pickton was convicted in 2007 of the second-degree murders of six women and sentenced to life in prison. He faced charges for another 20 murders of women, mostly sex trade workers and poor drug users from the impoverished neighbourhood of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, but these charges were stayed by prosecutors. The province said “any additional convictions could not result in any increase to the sentence that Mr. Pickton has already received."
