A Critical Dragon | Robert J. Sawyer Talks to Me about 'Trek and Strange New Worlds @ACriticalDragon | Uploaded June 2022 | Updated October 2024, 5 hours ago.
Okay, okay, so I was hard on Star Trek: Discovery, but I have been really loving ST: Strange New Worlds, and the brilliant Robert J. Sawyer joined me for a discussion shortly after "Lift Us Where Suffering Cannot Reach" (Season One Episode 6) aired.
We discuss the episode and the season thus far, with a particular focus on why we think it is working for us, plus we have a few laughs.

Rob is one of only eight writers in history — and the only Canadian — to win all three of the world's top Science Fiction awards for best novel of the year: the Hugo, the Nebula, and the John W. Campbell Memorial Award, so he is always a great person to discuss narrative with. His novel Flashforward was adapted for TV, and he has some great insights into TV writing, adaptation, Science Fiction (the history, the genre, TV, Film and Books), and his life-long love of Star Trek makes him a great person to discuss this with.
