Video Glossary:
Type: Type is a term the industry uses to define who could realistically play a specific role in a musical, opera or production.
Libretto: the text of an opera or a long vocal work.
Ingenue: a leading romantic character. Comes from the french word meaning “innocent” and has many societal connotations and specifications from various story telling media.
Score: notation of a musical work, or sheet music.
Piano Realization: The sheet music that gives the rehearsal pianist enough musical content to play a representation of what the full orchestra will sound like in performance.
Public Domain: content that is available to the public as a whole, not copyrighted.
Figure: a short succession of notes that are often reoccurring.
Stanislavski: Kostantin Stanislavski was a Russian actor and director who is known for his advancements made in actor training, preparation and rehearsal techniques.
