Acclaimed South African soprano Vuvu Mpofu performs “O Mio Babbino Caro” from Giacomo Puccini’s 1918 opera Gianni Schicchi. One of the most beloved arias in the operatic canon, “Mio Babbino Caro” captures a daughter’s heartfelt plea to her father for love and approval. Sung in Italian, this short yet emotionally rich piece is known for its tender melody and delicate phrasing – showcasing Vuvu’s remarkable vocal control and emotive depth. Conducted by Chad Hendricks at Vergelegen Wine Estate in 2025.
