"Reminder" is the second single from RL Grime's upcoming debut album VOID and will be released September 23, 2014 on WeDidIt Records

"RL Grime and How to Dress Well's melancholic "Reminder" is a song steeped as deeply in excitement as in despair. HTDW's Tom Krell revels in love lost, and seems to shiver in the fear of blind passion. The poem serves as much an ode to whats carnal as it does to whats internal, unseen and untouched. Sonically, "Reminder" reflects its subject. Krell's voice sits, distinct and haunting, above RL's thick, textured, and slow trudging production. The snare, paired with a subterranean echo, naturally becomes the spine of the track — repetend each bar that reminds us we're still searching. RL Grime's restraint allows the beat and vocal to mesh in the way that highlights the dynamics of the ballad. The ebb and flow that seems so elusive in R&B these days is unequivocally present. There is real range here, both emotional and sonic. The refrain, and final line, "When you were mine" leaves us lost in retrospect, serving as one last goodbye to a love that once was. "Reminder" comes September 23 as the second single to RL Grime's debut album VOID, out November on WeDidIt Records."
