This piece began as a simple representation of a forest rivulet, rippling over and under the landscape, but it became much more meaningful to me as time went as I practiced it.
This past month, my grandfather passed away, and I had the wonderful privilege of spending a great deal of time with him during his final weeks. During this process, I've was struck by the mirrored similarity of the beginning and ending of life - how everything seems to come full circle. I'm expecting another child in a few months, so the contrast of birth and death have been at the forefront of my mind recently. As I worked through this piece, it gave me that sense of symmetry; a similar - yet different - beginning and end, with a final, hopeful glimpse of what lies beyond.
