The California-based automaker is expanding its footprint in the Southeast with a new 500-person office space in Atlanta.
After years of financial turmoil, Rivian got a boost from a federal loan and partnerships with Volkswagen and Uber. These have supported operations and construction on its Georgia manufacturing facility.
Rivian’s CFO Claire McDonough says the new HQ will help the EV maker keep its supply chain local and avoid additional costs from tariffs.
Rivian will use the Georgia manufacturing plant to build Autonomous Robotaxis for Uber.
