Hello generals and welcome to Basic Training For RISK: Global Domination.
This is Basic Training Module 5: Territory Cards
Territory cards can be traded for extra troops. This will strengthen your army, making it easier to attack other players and defend your own territories. There are 3 main types of cards: Infantry, cavalry and artillery.
There are also wildcards. Wildcards can be used in place of any of the other designs. The goal is to collect sets of 3 cards in any of the following combinations: 3 cards of the same design (Infantry, Cavalry, or Artillery),
1 card from each of the 3 designs, Or use a wildcard with either of these combinations. At the end of your turn, if you have conquered at least one of your opponent's territories, you will earn one random territory card. If you eliminate an opponent from the game, you will gain all of their cards.
The number of troops you gain from cards depends on whether you are playing on a fixed bonus of progressive bonus. A fixed bonus means there is a fixed amount of troops you will gain determined by the type of cards you draw. With progressive bonus, everytime a player trades, the number of troops gained progressively increases. This value will not change regardless of the card set combination.
If you have collected a set of 3 cards, you may trade them at the start of your next turn or you can wait. However, if you reach 5 cards at the beginning of your next turn, you are forced to trade. Use the Territory Card Bonus overlay to view which cards you own and if you have any card bonuses. If you see a green icon, this means you are able to trade in a set of cards. The number of bonus troops you will receive for trading in your cards is shown on the right side of your screen. Select trade now to complete the card trade.
And that’s it!
Well done Generals on completing module 5 of basic training!
Next up we’ll discuss manual dice roll.
