How are current demographic and technological changes shifting which sectors young people work in? Senior Research Specialist Niall O’Higgins, from the Youth Employment Programme at the International Labour Organization (ILO), presents evidence from his Programme’s research which demonstrates the difficulties young people encounter when entering the labour market today, and areas where significant improvement needs to be made for achieving greater levels of decent work.

Naila Kabeer (London School of Economics), Saskia Sassen (Columbia University) and Jomo Kwame Sundaram (Council of Eminent Persons, Malaysia) had a conversation with Imogen Foulkes (BBC Geneva Correspondent) to discuss the growing influence of elite power, the deepening of global inequalities and emerging forms of resistance.
