Well it wasn't so bad, and the joint went together after some fettling. Thanks to all who joined me live and kept the chat going.
I have noticed that I departed from the 'correct' method, and that leaves a hidden hollow pocket, so I'll film a proper tutorial in the future. Meanwhile, I believe the original video in my hand cut joints series is correct, if a little old in the presentation.
