Rising Chao Phraya River Levels Put Seven Provinces on Alert

Authorities are warning communities in seven provinces to prepare for higher water levels along the Chao Phraya River. Increased releases from the Chao Phraya Dam could raise downstream levels by around one to 1.5 metres in some areas. Officials currently expect the water to remain within riverbanks, but residents in vulnerable riverside communities have been told to monitor conditions closely. Further warnings could be issued if discharge levels continue to rise.
