Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty didn't impress me, so what about Team Ninja's open world Rise of the Ronin? Welp, here's the first 6 hours. I spent many more hours playing it and even looked up multiple guides to help me with combat, but at the end of the day I was just getting way more frustrated than I was having fun. If it wasn't a Soulslike and the window for counterattacks wasn't so punishingly small, I'd probably be able to get into it, but no such luck here.
That prologue level is also probably one of the worst prologue levels I've ever played in any game.
