Last week MTV announced it was shutting down its music channels. With very much a whimper and not a bang, they’ve stripped the music out of MTV.
It’s an inglorious end to a defining era of music culture.
In this video, I talk about the history of MTV and share my own personal experiences with the channel — from Sum 41 appearing on TRL in 2001 to two failed attempts on Punk’d.
It was a good run.
