Synopsis: Blu is a flightless rare macaw who acts more human than bird. His world is turned upside down when he discovers he must travel all the way to Rio to save his species. There, he meets the wildly independent Jewel and a menagerie of vivid characters who all embark on a journey and help Blu fulfill his destiny and learn to fly.

• The song “Real in Rio” was nominated in the Best Original Song category at the Academy Awards. It was one of only two nominees in the category that year, losing to “Man or Muppet” from The Muppets.
• In February 2011, the MPAA gave the film a PG rating for "mild off-color humor". The producers, displeased by this rating, resubmitted an edited version of the film to the ratings board one month later, and the MPAA changed the film to a G rating.
The Copyright Laws of the United States recognizes a “fair use” of copyrighted content.
