The old Netgear Arlo cameras (review here: youtu.be/_uhCosojuwA) we had are on their last leg (the IR filter is stuck on one and one other can't connect at all). Regardless, I wanted to upgrade our Ring Alarm Security System (review here: youtu.be/Ht96vfq51y0) and Ring Doorbell Pro 2 (review here: youtu.be/sGmHd3_xBno) to one system with cameras.
We bought both the Ring Floodlight cameras (for the backyard and side yard which already had wired lights) and also Ring Spotlight Camera Battery cameras (review coming soon) for the garage and both sides of the front yard to cover the entire yard. The Ring Floodlight Security Camera is easy to install, has a great camera on it in 1080p resolution, and all of the cameras connect together in one app (the Ring App) instead of having to switch between apps to see everything. The only problem I had with the Ring Floodlight Security Camera is tweaking the system to balance the motion sensing distance and the light operation distance. Once that was done (over a matter of days) the floodlight camera is perfect. I was even able to view my entire house with all of the cameras while I was on vacation in Los Angeles this past July. The $100/year plan to monitor all cameras and the security system make the Ring set of security affordable after putting your initial investment into buying the Ring products. I am also able to monitor packages that come to the house, people who arrive, etc... This is an excellent buy that comes with a lot of flexibility.
