Another amazing RigidatoMS song that I felt like covering. I decided to go with the OPL3 for this one. The guitar and robotic voice patches took quite some time to figure out, especially with the latter since the OPL3 doesn't have SSG-EG, which only exists on the OPN family of FM chips. To accomplish that, I simply created some patches that sounded like (or somewhat close to) the syllables heard in the original song and have them played at a note that was close to said syllables. This is also the first OPL3 song I have uploaded that was rendered using the Nuked-OPL3 emulation core. I used a version of OpenMPT that was hacked to allow OPL3 VGM logging. The audio was rendered with the latest version of the in_vgm plugin in XMPlay, which has the Nuked-OPL3 emulation core for OPL2 and OPL3 VGMs. This OpenMPT hack seems to place whatever plays first in the first few channels regardless of where they were placed in the MPTM module, as I had the seasore and bird sound effects actually play in the last couple of channels in the MPTM module. I typically like to have the percussion and bass instruments play in the first few channels, the leads come next, then the backing chords, and finally misc backing percussion would take the remaining channels (in which any SFX can cut off these instruments since the main part of any song I make won't get interrupted), so the OpenMPT OPL3 VGM logging hack shifted these parts ahead since it placed the aforementioned sound effects in the first few channels of the OPL3. Still, I like how better the Nuked-OPL3 emulator sounds compared to Opal (the emulator used in OpenMPT for OPL3).
