Prominent right-wing influencers have responded to recent actions from Tyler Robinson’s defense team claiming that the defense has admitted he killed Charlie Kirk, but these claims are patently false and wholly misrepresent the defense filing. Jimmy and Americans’ Comedian Kurt Metzger point out that the filing merely argues that the state has failed to establish probable cause with reliable evidence and does not concede that Robinson committed the shooting, confessed, possessed the weapon, or was on the roof.
They accuse Benny Johnson and other commentators of misleading audiences by presenting arguments about the death penalty as admissions of guilt, while pointing to reactions from lawyers and critics who say the filing must be read in its legal context.
