In this episode, Rasen and Fang end the Rider Kick Cast hiatus by discussing the recently-released Shin Kamen Rider, Hideaki Anno's loveletter to the original Kamen Rider manga and television series, and the latest in the Shin Japan Heroes Universe meta-franchise. We have some complicated thoughts on how it is executed!
Kamen Rider is a long-running tokusatsu ("special filming," live-action productions with heavy special effects usage) series that follows the serialized adventures of a motorcycle-riding superhero known as Kamen Rider ("Masked Rider"). The original series ran from 1971 to 1973 over the course of 98 episodes. The TV show follows the exploits of the reluctant cyborg superhero Takeshi Hongo and his allies as they take on the evil organization known as Shocker.
