Just how important is it to be constantly re-evaluating your road position? This is a great example of MY attention to every clue of potential danger when I'm riding my motorbike. If you want decades of unscathed riding, this is the level you need to be at. Always watch for potential danger, and position yourself in a way that you control what can occur, therefore alleviating the risk of a near miss. This is the art of defensive riding, considering the 'what if?' and putting yourself in a position to deal with anything even before it happens or in this case fronting up any potential danger to stop it happening at all.
