On January 2 2021 Captain Jake goes fishing in the James River for blue catfish and this is the latest {catch clean cook} style video from @CharterFishing channel documenting that day. Two boats leave from Osborne Park and Boat Landing in Henrico County, VA to see who can catch the biggest catfish. Captain Jake fished aboard the "Team Fat Cat" boat captained by Joe and his girlfriend Blair. The other boat "Team Comfy Crew' captained by Robert and his wife Candy, and crewed by Paul and Chris fished in close proximity all day. The day started with a short ride from the boat ramp to an area to catch shad for bait with gill nets, then after bait had been caught, both boats moved to an area to fish for James River catfish. We had a lot of bites, but the fish were not biting aggressively and we managed to miss a great number of bites. Finally Blair hooked a large fish (50 plus pounds) only to break it off in the stern anchor lin. After that her name became Missy, but she redeemed herself by catching a 15 pound catfish soon after. I filleted that catfish and the next day filmed preparing a southern style air fried catfish sandwich using the fish Blair AKA Missy caught. in the end each boat caught a couple of catfish each and Jake landed the biggest catfish of the day at around 25 pounds. It was a super fun day and we are already working on the next 2 boat catfish tournament. This video was filmed on my new gopro 9 with motion stabilizing. I really like this camera and look forward to using it much more in the upcoming future.
