Richard Childress says he's pleased with what YouTube Superstar @CleetusM has brought to NASCAR and RCR. Childress told me Wednesday morning that even if they can convert 10 percent of McFarland's fans in to NASCAR fans, it's a win for the sport.
Childress is also please with the progress McFarland has made in his time working with the team and he's not too worried about NASCAR not approving them to run Cleetus at Talladega, they'll hopefully get to that at some point in the future.
When asked about the performance of his Cup Series program, Childress says it's not been the year they had hoped for, and he thinks a lot of that goes back to the new Chevy body for 2026. He says they're working hard to find what they need to be more competitive and hinted at a working relationship with Hendrick Motorsports under the Chevy program as all of the Chevys have been a little off so far this race season.
