A few notes about all of the Formation remasters: Most of these sound amazing, because we have had Beau at Ten Eight Seven work his magic on them, and he is a master of his craft. Where we can we have added weight and depth to the tracks, without taking away from their original sound. Where we could not improve them, we left them as close to the original recordings as possible. We took a long time working on each track to make sure it sounds as good as it possible can.
Having said that, some of the earlier Formations are quite rough and ready. This is not a fault of the mastering, the cut, or the source of the audio - this is how the orginal recording is. Some tracks were originally recorded in 8bit (most early rave was 16bit, whereas nowadays 24 or 32bit is standard), some of the earlier recordings are mono instead of stereo so lack depth in that respect, and some have distortion recorded into the recording.
These things are not really possible to upgrade or fix, although of course we have done all we can to make them the best they can be.
