This song plays in God of War 2 in the fight to test the Spear of Destiny, and before overlooking the Great Chasm to meet Icarus.
Compared to version 1, this version is shorter (2min36 vs 3min52s) and starts the song at a different point. Version 2 is only used in these two parts around the Lowlands area of the game, while version 1 plays in three parts (Typhon Mountain, West Auditorium, Loom Chamber). Rhodes Suspense is also used in two cutscenes: when Kratos gets hit by Colossus and loses all his powers, and when meeting Icarus. In GoW Chains of Olympus, both versions are used once each, in the Temple of Helios. In GoW3, the Hermes intro cutscene uses a variation of this song.

It is possible was it was originally meant to play in Rhodes, but changes in the game's script led to it being used as a general suspense song. Its combat and ambient counterparts (RHOCOM1L and RHOAMB1L) are "Crossing the Lowlands" and the East Auditorium song. Crossing the Lowlands also uses the same melody as Rhodes Suspense in a few parts.
