Rhode Island is a state with not much tornado history. Only 20 tornadoes have been confirmed in state record history. Two of the strongest tornadoes are an F2 in 1986 & an EF2 that affected the northern metro on August 18th, 2023 from a QLCS system. Watch this mini documentary on what led to the event and how it unfolded.
