Gamers Rise Up, or /r/GamersRiseUp, is a banned subreddit with an exceptional backstory. While many banned subreddits start out with a dicey premise that only got worse as time went on, Gamers Rise Up was a curious case of a subreddit that was created to mock people with detestable views, only for it to be taken over by the very people they sought to make fun of. While Reddit's intense over-censorship is undoubtably a bad thing, the sheer vileness of the community by the end of its lifespan meant its banning didn't come as a surprise.
